A Hit and Run Claim

Compensation: £4,500

£4,500 recovered after cyclist left unconscious in hit and run

Alastair acted for a cyclist who was knocked off his bike by a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident. The client was left unconscious, and the driver was never identified.

Despite the driver not being found, Alastair was able to pursue compensation through the Motor Insurers’ Bureau, which can provide a route to compensation for people injured by uninsured or unidentified drivers. The claim settled for £4,500.

When the driver leaves the scene, a claim may still be possible

Hit and run accidents can leave injured cyclists feeling as though they have no way forward, especially when the driver cannot be traced. In this case, our client was knocked from his bicycle by a vehicle that fled the scene, leaving him unconscious after the collision.

The driver was never found, but that did not mean the client was without options. Alastair specialises in claims involving unidentified drivers and was able to guide the case through the Motor Insurers’ Bureau, often known as the MIB.

The MIB exists to help compensate people injured by uninsured or unidentified motorists. By navigating that process on the client’s behalf, Alastair successfully recovered £4,500 in compensation.

Injured by a driver who fled the scene?

If you have been injured in a hit and run cycling accident, you may still be able to claim even if the driver was never found. Claims involving unidentified drivers can be more complex, but there may be a route through the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.

Two Wheel Claims can help you understand your options and guide you through the process.
